Choose the appropriate workflow
One-Views gives frequently used items their own place. First decide what the screen is for: quickly controlling a kitchen light, viewing a few rooms or creating a calm tablet display. Begin with a small selection; you can always open other devices through Devices or Rooms.
The connected interface of Core v0.37.0 offers a personal overview of starred devices. The interactive demo also has a full editor with multiple dashboards and blocks. The workflows below are therefore described separately. A demo layout does not automatically become a dashboard on your real Core.
Build an overview with your real devices
- Open the connected Core interface and check that it shows your own rooms and devices.
- Open Devices or a device within its room. Star a device using In One-Views or Show in One-Views.
- Repeat for the devices needed on this screen. Choose a manageable selection for everyday use.
- Open One-Views. The starred devices appear with their states retrieved from Core.
- Choose Rename and give the overview a recognisable name, such as Kitchen controls. Save.
- Use the same star again to remove a device from your selection. The device itself remains available in the home.
Create a dashboard in the sample home
In the demo, you can begin with a starting layout or an empty dashboard. Give it its own name, such as Living room tablet. A starting layout is a starting point; inspect the supplied blocks and remove anything you do not need.
- Open the dashboard and choose Edit layout.
- Choose Add block and select the item type: room, device, Moment, camera, energy or an available One-Element.
- Search for the item, add it and choose Done to return to the layout.
- Choose an offered size for each block and move it by dragging or using the arrows.
- Choose Save. Check the controls after leaving edit mode.
Make the layout comfortable for daily use
Place your most frequently used controls first. A wide or large block can help with information read from a distance, while a compact block saves space. Check the actual display on its intended device, both vertically and horizontally if you use both orientations.
Ordinary block controls are disabled while editing in the demo. Finish your changes before trying to start a device or Moment. A removed item can leave a missing block: choose a new item through Edit layout or remove the block. This repairs the layout without reconnecting a device.
Manage startup and storage
Through Dashboard settings in the demo, you can change the name and select Open this dashboard at startup. You can duplicate a dashboard as the basis for a variation. Deleting a dashboard removes the layout, not the rooms, devices or Moments it references.
Dashboards, startup choice and the selection in the connected overview are stored in this browser on this device. Your phone and wall panel can therefore have different choices even with the same Core account. Another browser, private window or cleared website data can show a different or empty layout.
Check sources, permissions and missing blocks
In the demo, control blocks use the same sample states as the other demo pages. Camera and energy blocks remain sample data. A well-filled dashboard therefore does not prove that real devices, meters or cameras are connected.
Core permissions continue to apply in the connected overview. A star grants no extra controls or room access. Is a device missing? First check whether it still appears under Devices, your account may see it and the star is selected on this screen. For a control error, check the device status and wait for Core confirmation. Save unsaved demo changes before leaving the editor.
