Use cameras and baby mode

Recognise preview images and real connections

The interactive sample home shows still preview images. A visible room photograph is not a live camera and says nothing about what is happening in that room now. Calling the page baby mode does not change the source. Read the status on the card and in the large view before interpreting an image.

In the connected new interface of Core v0.37.0, Cameras points to Core management. Real live video, listening, detections and recordings depend on the supported camera, integration and permissions. Cameras and security remain closed to shared accounts in this new connection. Ordinary room permission therefore does not automatically grant camera access.

Find and view a camera

1. Open Cameras and choose Overview. Search by a recognisable camera name or adjust the filter.
2. Open a card to read its room, image status and connection information.
3. Use Large view to enlarge the available image. Continue to check for Preview image or a connection message there.
4. Mark a frequently used camera as a favourite and use Edit name in the demo if a clearer name would help.
5. Return to All cameras when you want to open another room.

Set up baby mode in the demo

Baby mode brings selected rooms together in one overview. This lets you try the presentation on a tablet. The demo offers layouts for two or three rooms and saves the selection on this device. Choose recognisable names so you do not confuse an image with another room.

1. Open Baby mode and choose Edit layout.
2. Choose two or three rooms and select exactly that number of cameras.
3. Use the up and down buttons to set the order.
4. Choose Save layout, check every title and optionally open Large view.
5. Try Quiet view in the large overview to decide which presentation you prefer.

Check audio deliberately

Listening requires a suitable connected audio source and permission in the interface. A volume slider alone does not prove that audio is arriving. Check the displayed connection status, mute setting and the volume in both the app and your device. No real camera stream is connected in the sample home.

The camera view stops audio when you leave the page, put the app in the background or the device hides the page. Do not rely on continuous background audio. Reopen the desired view and check the listening status when you return. Availability can differ by browser and camera.

Understand hiding and temperature

Hide image hides the image in this app on this device. It does not switch off the physical camera or stop recordings. For camera settings and recording management, use the supported management functions of your installation or camera. First test hiding and showing an image again with a sample card.

Baby mode can display room information when available. A measured temperature and a configured target temperature have different meanings. The demo uses sample readings. Changing a target does not prove the room has reached that temperature. The page provides no medical assessment or health monitoring.

If an image or audio is missing

First establish whether you are viewing a preview or a real source. Then check hiding, device availability and account permissions. If a real camera is reachable in its own supported environment but not in Core, report that finding to the administrator with the camera name, time and error message.

For silence, check muting, browser restrictions and the selected audio output device. Reopen the page if the app has been in the background. Browser preferences such as layout, name and hiding belong to this screen; another device may show different choices. When requesting support, do not share camera passwords or images unrelated to the issue.
