Moments: several actions with one tap

Understand what a Moment does

A Moment combines desired device settings. Think of Movie night with two dimmed lights, or Sleep with the downstairs lights switched off. You start the combination manually. To start at a particular time or after a change, use an automation rule. Begin with a small, clear Moment whose actions you can check individually.

The full Moments editor described below belongs to the interactive sample home. In the connected new interface of Core v0.37.0, this section points to Core management; integration follows per One-Link. Examples are not imported into your real home. Check Core management to see which Moments and actions your installation actually supports.

Inspect an existing Moment

Choose View first so you understand the effects before pressing Start. What happens lists the devices, their rooms and the chosen values. A name such as Sleep does not itself tell you which lights or other devices will be controlled.

1. Open Moments and search by name or room. Clear the search or choose All Moments if something is missing.
2. Open a card and read every action. Check the desired brightness, white temperature or other offered setting.
3. Look for warnings about missing devices, unavailable devices or unavailable actions.
4. Start only when the combination is correct. Afterwards, inspect the affected devices and their current states.

Build your own combination in the demo

Choose Create Moment and give it a short, recognisable name. Add a description explaining its purpose, such as soft lighting for reading on the sofa. The icon, accent and image help you find the Moment, but do not change its actions.

1. Add the devices you want and choose an offered setting for each action.
2. Start with two lights and choose different brightness levels so the result is easy to recognise.
3. Check the action list and save the Moment. Open it again to review your choices.
4. Try Start in the sample home and compare the settings on the device page.

Organise, reuse and edit

Use Favourite to find frequently used Moments. Showing a Moment on Home and changing the order determine which combinations are easy to select there. A favourite does not mean a Moment remains active; Last started describes the most recent start.

Duplicate is useful for a variation, such as Reading evening alongside Movie night. Give the copy its own name and check every action before using it. Changes to a Moment can also affect a One-Flows rule that selects it. Check the linked rule again after editing.

Check the result carefully

Recent runs helps you see when you started a demo Moment. This record describes the sample environment and does not confirm physical device operation. On your real Core, check the execution information available there as well as the device states read back from the devices.

If the result is unexpected, inspect individual devices first. Does the same setting work separately? Is the device still reachable and assigned to the correct room? Change one action at a time so you can identify which adjustment solves the problem.

If starting or saving fails

A missing device or unavailable action requires you to edit the Moment. Restore the connection first or deliberately remove the invalid action. Repeatedly adding copies will not resolve the same error.

For real controls, also check your account and room permissions. Ask the administrator to review a denied action. Demo Moments remain in this browser; another browser or cleared website data can show a different selection. When requesting help, record the name, problem action, environment and error message without sharing account secrets.
