Understand what belongs to this screen
One-Home saves screen preferences in the browser on the device you use. Your phone can therefore have a light, compact display while the kitchen tablet is dark. Even when using the same Core account, those choices do not have to match. A screen name is a recognition label, not a new resident account.
The connected interface of Core v0.37.0 offers a name, theme, layout and language under This screen. The interactive demo has more preferences, including startup page, density and following the device theme. The sections below identify where the more extensive options are used.
Configure a connected screen
- Open the new interface directly on your Core and sign in with your own account.
- Open Settings or Initial setup and find This screen.
- Enter a recognisable Screen name, such as Kitchen tablet or Sam’s phone.
- Choose Dark, Ambient or Light under Theme. Assess readability in the room where the screen is used.
- Leave Layout on Automatic, or deliberately choose Desktop, Tablet, Mobile or Wall panel.
- Choose Dutch, English or German and press Save on this screen. Open a normal page afterwards to inspect the result.
Try the fuller demo appearance settings
In the demo, open Settings > Appearance. Under Your atmosphere, choose Dark, Ambient or Light. Follow device theme switches the interface between dark and light according to the system theme; Ambient is a separate manual choice. Adjust density for more space or a more compact overview.
Assess changes on a page containing sample-home content, such as Devices or Rooms. Check text, sliders and buttons. A layout that feels comfortable on a wide monitor may require more scrolling on a phone. Automatic is a useful starting point when a device often changes orientation.
Choose a starting point for your demo device
Open Settings > This device and choose the desired page under Open at startup. To open a personal demo dashboard, use the startup choice in One-Views. Check the selected choice by reopening the app in the same browser.
Through Edit layout on Home, or Your home overview in the appearance settings, you can show or hide demo sections such as Now at home, Home pulse and One-Home Intelligence. This changes the presentation, not devices or integrations. For your real connected overview, select devices using the star in One-Views.
Use a tablet as a wall panel
In the demo, This device contains Keep screen awake and Full screen. The browser and device determine whether these functions can operate. Keep screen awake requires One-Home to remain visible; it does not prevent the device locking or browser stopping under every circumstance.
Test the panel where you use it: are the buttons easy to touch and important values readable? Check again after rotating, locking and unlocking. Camera audio stops when the camera page is left or the app moves into the background; a wall panel setting does not change that behaviour.
If preferences change or disappear
First check whether you are using the same device, browser and website address. A private window handles data differently, and clearing website data can remove preferences. Configure a second screen separately and do not expect the presentation to synchronise automatically.
If a choice will not save, read the message and check whether the browser may store website data. For an unexpected theme in the demo, check Follow device theme. For the wrong startup page, check both This device and the One-Views startup choice. Restore only the affected preference; resetting all of Core does not solve a local screen layout issue.
