Start with the correct home
Residents & access in the connected Core app manages the people who can use your local home. These accounts and permissions are stored on Core. My One-Home on the website manages the Cloud account, licences and linked installations; it does not assign local room permissions.
Open your usual Core address with /app/ at the end. Under System, check the home, address and signed-in account. Managing residents requires an owner or administrator account. A sample profile in the demo grants no access to a real installation.
Create an individual account
Give each resident a separate username. This lets you adjust access without changing other household accounts. A new account starts without home access, so creating it alone does not complete the setup.
- Open Residents & access and choose Add resident.
- Enter a recognisable name and a unique username of at least three characters. Use at least ten characters for the initial password.
- Choose Create account, then open Edit access for this resident.
- Agree with the resident which local Core address and username to use. Do not send an administrator password.
Set viewing and control separately
Choose Resident, Child or Temporary guest as the profile. Then check every room. No access hides the room from this account. View only displays the permitted information. View and control also allows operation of the devices in that room.
The profile name does not replace the actual room selection. Review the entire list, even if you only intended to change a role. Cameras and security are not yet available to shared accounts in this new connection; that access remains closed.
- Turn on Access enabled when the account may be used.
- Select suitable access for each room, including rooms that should remain inaccessible.
- Choose Save permissions on Core and wait for the result.
Schedule temporary guest access
A temporary guest has a start and end time. Entry uses the local time of the screen where you edit the profile. Check that device’s time zone when travelling or managing remotely.
Choose a specific period that matches the visit. Access may be unavailable before the start and expire after the end. If someone leaves early, turn off Access enabled and save. Reopening a paused profile does not automatically extend its assigned period.
- Choose Temporary guest and enter From and Until; make the end later than the start.
- Check the room permissions, save and note when the visit ends.
Test from the resident’s account
An administrator screen shows more than a resident’s screen. Test the new account in a second browser or on another device. Check both an allowed room and a room that should remain closed.
A light group is visible only if the resident may view every light in it. Operating the group requires control permission for every light. A group therefore does not expand the underlying room permissions.
- Sign in as the resident and inspect the visible rooms and devices.
- Test one allowed command and wait for confirmation of the actual device state.
- For view-only access, check that controls are unavailable.
Resolve access messages methodically
For paused, expired or unconfigured access, check the profile, enabled access and guest period. A missing room can also result from a device being assigned to another room.
If Core reports that someone changed the profile while you were editing, close the window and reopen it. Review the current permissions before saving your change again. For the administrator account, Manage account on Core opens the existing Core management interface.
